G7D RECEIVED GRANT FROM KABOOM!
G7D recently received a grant from KaBoom after submitting an application with them. KaBoom is a non-profit helps provide children a place to play. This grant will be used toward putting in a playground in the park on Lenore Avenue. The company that is funding the playground is Foresters Financial. They are a multi-billion company based in Toronto, Canada.
A design day will happen where some children will be able to submit ideas of what they think the playground should look like and parents will help to pick out the equipment that best match and colors for the playground. Plus a planning committee will be formed so that build day can planned out. Then 7 or 8 weeks later the equipment will be dropped off and will need to be assembled. That's when we will need everybody's help to make it happen. The build day is Saturday, September 15th. That day there will be a breakfast and lunch served during the build day. If interested in helping on build day email info@G7D.org. We are also looking to fund raise $30,000 in 30 days for this project. If interested in giving go over to the Donate page and select "KaBOOM! Park Project" as the place to donate.
Grand Seven Detroit was started by leadership at HARVEST CHRISTIAN CHURCH in 2013 and named “Build It Detroit” in an effort to restore the neighborhood around the church. It has been relaunched as Grand 7 Detroit, to better reflect our commitment to the neighborhood near the intersection of Grand River and Seven Mile. READ MORE.

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF
For decades, Harvest Christian Church has served its neighborhood near the intersection of Grand River Avenue and West Seven Mile Road in Northwest Detroit. This love for their neighbors grew into a vision for a community where families will relax on their porches, watching children play, believing that tomorrow will be an even brighter day.
In 2013, Build It Detroit was launched by a team of leaders from HARVEST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, located near the corner of Grand River and Seven Mile. We began acquiring and renovating properties, and working alongside the resident families to turn them into comfortable, habitable homes. Our vision is to create a vibrant, thriving community in the “Grand Seven Detroit” neighborhood. READ MORE.
Seven Keys to Neighborhood Success
In order to see the Grand Seven neighborhood thrive as a whole, its families must thrive. In order to realize G7D’s vision—of a community where families relax on their porches, watching children play outside, believing that tomorrow will be an even brighter day—a lot of things need to come together and improve over time.
To that end, G7D has defined SEVEN KEYS TO NEIGHBORHOOD SUCCESS. All of these are ingredients needed to create the kind of thriving life described in our vision. G7D and its partners are dedicated to encouraging and facilitating these factors through work, investment, and ministry.
Our plan for the future is to work at each of these key performance indicators to build investment, community, and success.
